Potatoes and Gravy

Gotta love life in the fast lane.
January is certainly keeping me on my toes.
Yesterday, I had the pleasure of keeping
over 500 school children on their toes.
Following my presentation inspiring
the teachers of Swansea at the
Health Schools Event, I was asked by many schools
to go along and spread a bit of healthy
motivation to the children.
Burlais School was top of my hit list.
What a fantastic job they’re doing.
Encouraging children with their choices when
they are in school and HOPEFULLY
taking it home with them.
That’s where challenge is.
Yesterday I
absolutely LOVED taking the
assembly and seeing all the children
getting excited to talk about
food and to jump around.
They loved it.
That’s what they want.
They’ve got so much energy and fun inside them,
and it’s sad knowing that with computers and
junk food all over the places, their future
health is a worry.
Like I said in the video I’ve shared with you
today, it’s getting the parents on
board that is needed.
So many times I hear the excuse for
junk food being in the house:
“Ah, its for the kids”
So many times I hear the reason for
my clients going to a fast food takeaway:
“Ah, it’s for the kids”
All of these things are just encouraging them to grow up
with bad food habits and unhealthy lifestyles.
It’s scary.
More and more will grow up
over weight, with lifestyle diseases like
diabetes and this will
have a dramatic effect on confidence,
happiness and self esteem in future years.
Maybe as you read this you’re either a struggling
parent knowing whats best to
feed your children
or
on a more personal level…
are you one of those that’s grown up
TIRED
OVERWEIGHT
LIVING WITH LIFESTYLE DISEASES
LOW IN CONFIDENCE AND SELF ESTEEM.
This can all change NOW
I KNOW many people STILL
need advice and educating on
what to eat and I’m gonna say it
as simple as I did yesterday
Fill your plate with as many colours of
the rainbow.
It can be that easy.
Yesterday after the school visit
i went into the Diet Tribe group on Facebook to
see what meals the team have been eating.
There were so many meals that needed
changing or avoiding.
High calorie
High fat
High sugar
Today I’ll be having a Tara Talk
about their meals and I’m going to keep
it as simple as I did with the children yesterday.
Go back to basics
Focus on the big rocks
Get the colour on your plate
NOT Potatoes and Gravy!
