How I’m Staying In Holiday Shape

It is harder staying mindful, working out, eating healthy and not over indulging when you’re out of routine.

I’m still away enjoying super chill time with my family but keeping in touch daily with the girls in the support groups.

When I was chatting with the Life Taransformers on Monday evening I was asked a question

“When you don’t have a workout in a day, should you change what you eat?”

In a nutshell….Yes

This is how I’ll keep it simple

Move less, Eat less

Move more, Eat more

What I DO NOT recommend is

Move more, eat less

^^^ This is the dieting, restricting, yo-yo, unsustainable way of approaching weight loss and

you may lose some pounds initially, but they will all go back on plus more.

For me to stay as accountable as possible and mindful of what I really want whilst in an all-Inclusive hotel, I’m following the same principles.

Each morning we’re going for a little family walk before breakfast, whilst it’s nice and cool.

We’re making good choices with our food and enjoying the treats too from time to time.

Whilst it would be easy to choose the waffles, pancakes, bread, chips, pasta, burgers, beers etc each day it would also make us feel bloated, lethargic and one thing is for sure…we’d be sorry by the time we get home.

Some days we’ve had the doughnuts with coffee, some bread with our three course dinner and a few glasses of red wine…..we’ve also had days where we’ve avoided the alcohol, eaten lower carb and felt better for the balance

(knowing full well, that the next day we’ll defo be enjoying some treats again)

So if you have a day where you’ve done a good workout,

you’ve walked plenty,

You’ve been busy and on the go all day….keep your energy up and eat plenty

(Of healthy food of course!)

And on those days where you don’t do much and you enjoy the relaxation of a chilled and easy day, recharge your batteries and relax…but also eat a little less. Lower the carbs, have lighter, balanced meals and know that you can still stay on top of your goals…guilt free!
