5 top ideas for on the go clean eating

So often clients will say that they have tried their best with their clean eating, but they were so busy they got a little caught out a few times in the week.

So that got me thinking….you guys need some ideas on how to create something healthy that is perfect for on the go. The TARAnsformers love some of these recipes I’m about to share with you!

Yes, these will take a little preparation – I’m sure you can spare 10-15 minutes, but these could provide the perfect answer to surviving a non – stop day without falling for those biscuits and sugary cereal bars that you could end up choosing in a mad, low willpowered panic!

It’s happened to us all, with all the best intentions in the world it can be hard to not demolish a chocolate bar or a shop bought sandwich when you’re rushing around. That is quickly followed by instant guilt as soon as you’ve swallowed the last bite.

So I’ve got 5 fab ideas to help keep you loaded with the perfect ‘ I need to grab it quickly’ plan, that will help keep you on the straight and narrow when life may seem a little hectic.

Chocolate Chip Protein Bar
¼ cup Chocolate Whey
1 tablespoon Coconut Flour
5g Cocoa Nibs
1/*4 cup Water
Mix it all together until its a dough consistency. If it’s a bit dry, don’t be too tempted to add much more water, just wet your fingers and see how you go. (I’ve ruined many a recipe by adding too much water right at the end). Mould into a bar shape. You can either freeze it or chill it in the fridge straight away or bake it in the oven at 160 degrees for 5-10 mins. (5 mins Hard on outside, squidgy in middle, 10 mins bit more cooked through – I’m a 5 minute kinda person)

2 eggs
1 tbspn psyllium husk
Flavourings (ie pepper, chilli, garlic, herbs)


Mix all ingredients together.
Melt teaspoon coconut oil in a hot pan.
Pour the mixture into the pan and cook for 30-40 seconds, flip over and cook the other side.
Enjoy immediately or load with your fav wrap filling for on the go.


Ok, so those are great, but what if you didn’t spend the essential 10 mins prepping. You may find yourself in the supermarket and you need to know what to grab.


So change your thinking about the aisles! Don’t go straight to the convenient, on the go aisle, go to the refrigerated section and look for the following. These are a few combo’s you can get anywhere.


1 portion size pot of Total 0% yoghurt or any plain greek yoghurt (make sure it’s plain) with whole nuts (8-10) or berries


Ready cooked lean meat (try sliced chicken/ham/turkey/beef) and some ready chopped carrots, a mixed bag of veggies or cherry tomatoes


1 portion size pot of cottage cheese and a packet of prawns or salmon.


So hopefully they will help you on your fitness and fatloss mission, whilst living in the real world!
