Waste of time? - Tara Hammett

Waste of time?

Here’s my TOP TIPS to make sure you don’t waste time or money on the latest gadget craze.

Following the news yesterday that fitness trackers are

no good in helping you to lose weight the BBC invited me on to

their radio breakfast show to give my thoughts and tips.

I actually like my FitBit, it’s a really good tool to help me get my steps in.

I’ve had times where I’ve made it to 8,000 steps, WAS going to chill out for the night but

couldn’t let the numbers defeat me.

So I went out for a walk – every time I did this I felt FAB.

Pleased with myself for reaching a target and getting up and doing something.

There have also been times where I haven’t charged my battery for a while….so I

forgot about it. Oops.

So like everyone else….the novelty wore off a bit.

My experience and that of my clients confirms my message.

If you want results,

to change your lifestyle,

to lose weight,

to tone up so you like your body.

It boils down to a few things.

#1 Regular exercise. It doesn’t have to be long, 12 mins HIIT and walking is easy to

squeeze into your day and get you results.  BUT you’ve got to be CONSISTNENT

(You knew that already right?)

#2 Healthy eating. It doesn’t have to be boring or restrictive. Being mindful of the junk you eat and eating healthy, balance meals will help you get results. BUT you’ve got to be CONSISTENT.

(Again….you already knew that)

#3 Life Balance. IT doesn’t have to be difficult. Try and get more sleep (bed is more important than box sets), Try and manage your stress (Ask for help and get support from those around you). BUT you’ve got to be CONSISTENT.

(I’m sure you knew that too)

#4 Be Accountable. it doesn’t have to be expensive. Spending £35 an hour on a Personal Trainer may not be manageable, but there are groups and networks you can be part of. You just have to be CONSISTENT with doing what you know you should do and declaring it with the group.

In the future you may get seduced by the latest App, Gadget, Shake, Shot, Pill….anything to help you lose weight. All of these will say the same:

“Must be used in conjunction with regular exercise and a healthy diet”

UUmmmm…….Obv!

So how about SAVING yourself the £40 for the latest immune boosting drink and spend it on REAL food, REAL support and a REAL plan (which has been proven) to help you get what you want?

If you have a FitBit (Like me) GREAT – use it!!!

The only thing that will get you the results you want though is YOU

Apply what you know

Do it consistently.

If you only do it part time…..expect some results, or stay the same.

If you don’t know what to do…..

ASK!!

It wont hurt

Keep fit & fab
