My All Inclusive Survival Guide
Hellooooo
Hope you're having a fab day so far.
More inspo from me today and I'm going to share my top holiday survival tips
Before the tips though, lets just have a reminder
Life is for living, loving, enjoying and filling with happy times.
I'm sure NOBODY right now want to lose weight and continue to stress about not putting it back on, then subsequently, stressing about enjoying.
For example, one of my gorgeous girls said to me
"I'm so excited for hols and I know I'll eat good food but I know I'll want to drink and I'm scared of putting weight on!"
BALANCE
We may very well put on a few pounds on holiday, but they can come off as quick as they went on when you get home and back to a healthy lifestyle, which is easy to do once you've worked on it and made it natural.
My recent holiday was for 2 weeks. We stayed all inclusive and yes, we enjoyed everything
I'm going to tell you how I relaxed and enjoyed, didn't worry or feel guilty and didn't put on loads of pounds.
HOLIDAY EXERCISE
Whether you go away for a week or 2, there's plenty of time to get some exercise in.
Whilst I was away I made a few trips to the gym, but I also did a 12min workout in my room in the morning,
went for long walks ....and spent plenty of time playing with Danny in the pool.
When you move more, you feel better.
It's a great way of using up some of the energy from what you've eaten and you always feel good after it.
(If you're one of those thinking - no way am I doing exercise on hols, that's absolutely fine - I get it,
but also be prepared to have some work to do when you get home)
HOLIDAY DRINKING
It is VERY EASY to help yourself to endless drinks on holiday, quite possibly drinking as many calories as you eat.
A few latte's in the morning,
a mixture of different cocktails during the day
then onto the wine or prosecco in the evening.
Maybe a few of the local lager too
10 drinks X 100kCals = 1000 kCals
(Some drinks can easily be more than 100kCals)
So be mindful.
If you want to drink alcohol all day long, consider lower calorie drinks like Gin & tonic
(I had one on hols - OMG It must have been half a pint of gin in there - bleurgh.
I left it and had a cava instead)
Alternate alcohol with soft drinks - you really should drink as much water as possible in the heat.
HOLIDAY ALL INCLUSIVE EATING
There will be three meals a day to have, so don't eat everything all the time.
Each day I started with a lighter meal.
I avoided the bread (no boat in my bikini thank you and no queuing)
Lunch would be lighter too, similar choices of fish, salad etc sometimes a couple of chips. we could
Dinner, I would make sure there was protein & veg on my plate, sometimes bread and one or two drinks.
TBH the desserts didn't really tickle my fancy.
Miniature cakes which looked pretty but when you eat them - average...so it wasn't worth it.
Plus if we were having a few beers/wines we'd enjoy that instead with a few cheese & crackers
HOLIDAY TREATS
Yep - we had those too...just not every day.
We had a few ice creams, cakes and donuts but we would share and be happy with a taste
Have them - just don't go overboard and consider everything you've had that day before you say yes to the ice cream.
HOLIDAY RECOVERY
If in the event you come home and realise that you haven't followed any tips.
You left your mindfulness in the house, you may come home with some extra pounds
(which will include some retention)
The main thing is to get STRAIGHT BACK ON IT
Now it's not easy.
Some of those sweet cravings linger a little longer, but the sooner you get your washing done and suitcases away, the sooner you can focus on getting back in the game.
The pounds will come off as quick as they went on,
just get accountable,
get supported,
eat well,
eat less calories,
exercise regularly and get back in the game.
Life is all about balance,
we work, we play
we're on it, we're off it
Be healthy, have a healthy outlook on everything and enjoy!
