Recovery & Recipe!
I’ve just come back from a really tough sprint session in the gym.
It was hard,
but I think I’ve recovered!
Let’s catch up about the weekend 🙂
Friday night was the Christmas night out with my team and
we had a fabulous night.
Needless to say there were a few vodka & soda’s
on the agenda and Saturday morning
I woke up with a small dose of wine flu!
Nothing too bad, as I followed my hydrating rules.
I just didn’t feel my usual self.
and add into the mix
that I had a tough workout on the day too
I had a nice dose of DOMs to deal with!
(DOMS – Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness).
But I’m back on track!
That’s what it’s all about see – how do you pull it back?!?
Sunday I had a good weight session after a full morning
(may not have told you but I’m doing another nutrition qualification – #nutritionnerd)
and I’ve already been at it this morning and just finished a sprint session.
There – that’s my weekend in a nutshell. How was yours?
So – back on the clean machine and I’m sharing with you another festive recipe!
Today you have Vanilla, Orange & Mixed Spice Raw Protein Bar
Getting back on the wagon has never tasted so goooooood!!
Vanilla, Orange & Mixed Spice Raw Protein Bar
1/2 CUP OF VANILLA WHEY
2 TBS FRESH GRATED ORANGE ZEST
1 TBS VANILLA ESSENCE
1/4 CUP ALMOND MILK (UNSWEETENED)
1 CUP GROUND ALMONDS
25G 85 – 90% DARK CHOCOLATE
Mix all ingredients together in a bowl except for a little orange zest and the dark chocolate. Melt the chocolate in Bain Marie.
Cover a plate with ground almond and shape mixture into four bars, using the ground flour on plate to rub in as you mould each bar, to keep them firm.
When bars are shaped, spoon a layer of the dark chocolate on the top, sprinkle the remaining orange zest and place in fridge for 15 minutes.
